Childrenswear Buyer Magazine launches second Independent Retail Awards

Childrenswear Buyer Magazine (CWB) has launched the second edition of its annual Independent Retail Awards, which celebrate performance and excellence in the UK independent children’s retail sector.
Following the success of the inaugural awards last year, applications for 2016’s competition are now open – with a new panel of expert judges set to be selected and headed-up by CWB’s editor, Laura Turner.
This year’s awards comprise six categories – including the newly-launched Best Baby Store, which is open to UK retailers specialising in newborn and baby essentials.
The Best Kid’s Independent Store award will return for a second outing, after West Yorkshire boutique Your Children’s Wardrobe scooped the title last year. Sponsored by children’s trade show Bubble London, this category is open to UK independent retailers who trade solely within the children’s apparel, footwear or accessories sectors.
Sponsored by children’s footwear exhibition Mini Moda, this year’s Best Footwear Store award will be presented to a retailer providing exceptional fitting and customer service within the footwear sector.
The Best Online Store category is open to UK-based independent retailers which do not have a bricks-and-mortar store, bringing customers the best branded children’s products on a digital level.
This year’s Best Schoolwear Store award will be sponsored by leading schoolwear supplier David Luke, and presented to a retailer delivering durable, high-quality uniforms and reliable service.
Finally, The Best New Store (less than two years) category is set to make a welcome return, recognising a children’s apparel, footwear or accessories store which has opened since 1 July 2014.
UK-based independent retailers can enter this season’s awards for free, with applications set to close on 30 September 2016.
CWB has also introduced a range of sponsorship packages, including digital and print advertising, and branding throughout the awards campaign. Packages are still available for the Best Baby Store Award, the Best Online Store Award, and the Best New Store Award.
