Big Ideas at Mini Moda

• New arrivals include Art Kids, El Naturalista Kids, BiBi and ShoesMe

• Returning regulars include Lelli Kelly, Bobux and Ricosta

• Children’s labels also well-represented within wider Moda Footwear area

• New Business Tuesday launches

Mini Moda has confirmed its position as the destination for children’s footwear brands with a bolstered line-up for a/w 17. The dedicated platform for children’s brands – located within the wider shoe industry’s national trade show Moda Footwear – will welcome a host of new additions into its strong line-up of returning regulars this season.

Brazilian leather specialist BiBi will makes its Moda debut this season, encompassing years of Brazilian craftsmanship with global trends in children’s footwear. Similarly well-established, ShoesMe will arrive from Holland with a collection focusing on the correct development of little feet with shoes for every stage from pre-walkers to teenagers in flexible and supportive leather.

Family lifestyle labels Art and El Naturalista meanwhile will both adopt an additional presence within Mini Moda alongside their core stands in Moda Footwear. The move comes as part of a wider strategy to focus on the development of the children’s offer for both labels, which are already well-regarded within the wider footwear sector.

“Mini Moda is the only UK show for quality children’s footwear retailers so it is the ideal platform from which to launch a new range to the UK,” says Michael Schlaeppi, UK agent for both El Naturalista and Art children’s ranges. “Both children’s collections from El Naturalista and Art are new to the UK, but their adult ranges are already successfully sold by independents. We are looking forward to attracting more children’s footwear specialists looking for new ranges offering high quality products that are made in Spain with a good fit and distinctive design.”

Mini Moda’s new arrivals join returning favourites Lelli Kelly, Ricosta, Pepino, Bo-Bell, Petasil, Daisy Roots, Pediped, Froddo, Catimini, Bobux, Richter, Shoo Pom and arauto RAP.

Accompanying the industry’s most inspiring product, Moda will go above and beyond the business of buying to deliver an engaging seminar programme this season. Launching as a brand new concept, New Business Tuesday will see the exhibition extend a particularly warm welcome to newly-established retailers with a tailored seminar schedule on the third day of the show.

As part of New Business Tuesday, Tuesday’s seminar topics include Social media for fashion retailers – the basics; Rachel Peterman’s How independent retailers can thrive in their first 12 Months and Influencer outreach – the new type of blogger.

The concept has been launched in recognition of the potential of new retail across the industry.

“We can already be found in over 150 retail stores nationwide, yet we always welcome enquiries from new start-ups,” says Marcus Baker, regional account manager for children’s footwear label Superfit. “In general, the footwear trade is very supportive of new business and, as Tuesday does tend to be a little bit quieter, new retailers will find it easier to speak with suppliers.”

Moda will also host engaging seminars throughout the day on Sunday and Monday, alongside its popular catwalk schedule throughout the full three days of the event.
